VOICES FROM THE PAST:
Diaries, Journals, and Autobiographies

In 1980 while working with the Campus Education Week program, under the direction of Brigham Young University's Division of Continuing Education, a small book was compiled entitled Voices From the Past: Diaries, Journals, and Autobiographies. The editorial board included: Leonard J. Arrington, Thomas G. Alexander, Donald Q. Cannon, Richard H. Cracroft, and Neal E. Lambert. Special thanks goes to Dianne T. King for her superb text preparation and editing.

Cover Art: Harris T. Weberg was a Scandinavian-American artist who was employed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to paint extensive murals in the Chapel of the Salt Lake Temple during its extensive remodeling which was undertaken between 1960 and 1964. This work “Builders of the Nation” was completed in the mid-1950s.

This book is dedicated first to our ancestors who took the time to share portions of their lives with us; next to those who are now recording personal experiences for future generations; and finally to our children whose lives may be guided by these distant but shining ancestral stars.
