EVERLASTING LIFE
Walk Toward the Light
Many fathers have witnessed the effect light can have on their newborn child. Nearly half of all children are born with what is called Jaundice, which is a yellowish or greenish pigmentation of the skin and whites of the eyes due to high bilirubin levels. Light is often used to treat and help correct this problem.
Light is a source of warmth, illumination, colorful rainbows, and photosynthesis which transforms carbon dioxide and water into oxygen. Sunlight makes life possible. Although most of the electromagnetic spectrum is unseen, radio waves, micro waves, and x-rays have transformed our daily lives.
The prophet Ammon rejoiced in heaven’s light. He “knew that king Lamoni was under the power of God; he knew that the dark veil of unbelief was being cast away from his mind, and the light which did light up his mind, which was the light of the glory of God, which was a marvelous light of his goodness—yea, this light had infused such joy into his soul, the cloud of darkness having been dispelled, and that the light of everlasting life was lit up in his soul….” Alma 19:6
As fathers, we can teach our family to appreciate light. We can help them understand how their lives are blessed by its seen and unseen presence. Teaching them the reality of “everlasting life”will help them develop a greater respect and appreciation for life. It will allow them to value who they are and what their potential can be.
Pray for your family
“that the light of everlasting life”
“that the light of everlasting life”
will be
“lit up in [their] soul….”
