FROM DUST TO ETERNITY

Death is Overcome through Jesus Christ
From Dust to Eternity | Fathering Leadership
Man can take earth’s dust and
form a statue or a temple.
~
God can take earth’s dust and
form a living soul.

Man’s creations
will crumble back to dust.
~
God’s creations will be
resurrected to eternal life.

Death of a loved one can be difficult for a child to understand or accept. A father can help by teaching them about Heavenly Father’s Great Plan of Happiness and how Jesus Christ has become our Savior. The atonement and resurrection of Jesus Christ confirms that life is eternal.

Death is Overcome through Jesus Christ

John 11:25  Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

1 Corinthians 15:42,55  So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:…
Oh death, where is thy sting? Oh grave, where is thy victory?

Physical Death is a New Beginning

John 5:28-29  Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

1 Peter 4:6  For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

Doctrine and Covenants 138:11,16,17  As I [President Joseph F. Smith ] pondered over these things which are written, the eyes of my understanding were opened, and the Spirit of the Lord rested upon me, and I saw the hosts of the dead, both small and great.
They were assembled awaiting the advent of the Son of God into the spirit world, to declare their redemption from the bands of death.
Their sleeping dust was to be restored unto its perfect frame, bone to his bone, and the sinews and the flesh upon them, the spirit and the body to be united never again to be divided, that they might receive a fulness of joy.

Repentance and Obedience to God’s Law
will Bring a Fullness of Joy

Psalm 16:11  Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

John 14:6,15  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Fathers who follow the Savior will strive to keep His commandments and walk in His way. They will teach their children, by example and by words, through love. They will say ‘Thank you’, they will share, and they will remember to be joyful.

God Will Exalt Your Faithful Effort | Fathering Leadership

    Faithful Effort

A father never wants to hear their child say of themselves that they are worthless. A child who thinks of themselves as worthless may be listening to others who brag of their looks, fortune, or social status. Comparing oneself with flashy, loud, and teasing bystanders will never define a person’s worth.

Unfortunately, many people don’t treat themselves very well and there are some who don’t even know what it’s like to be treated with kindness. We live in a pretty tough world. Nevertheless, fathers can help create a better world for themselves and for their family.

The Apostle Thomas wasn’t prepared for the news that Jesus had risen from the dead. He declared, “Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
