Thoughtful fathers want the best for their children. They understand that lasting happiness comes from humility. Humility is self-esteem not self-admiration, it is self-confidence and not self-importance, and it is a desire to please God and not to satisfy self-serving appetites. Humility builds unity and harmony. Humility is kind to self and others.<\/p>\n
Caring fathers seek ways to teach their family to be modest in thought and in deed. Modesty protects. Modesty reverences self. Modesty strengthens self-esteem and develops self-respect. Modesty shines and is self-evident. Modesty sends the message that we are children of Heavenly Parents and is an outward expression of our inward respect for self and others.<\/p>\n
Purity is an inner quality. Purity is sincere, genuine, and true to self. Purity is unselfish and unpolluted. Purity is morally chaste, undefiled, and virtuous. The word of God warns that “no unclean thing can inherit the kingdom of God”<\/i> (Alma 40:26<\/a>). Purity brings confidence before God.
